Two Majesties poem
Inspired by the Two Majesties
The sun is burning when I gaze upon it. Its reddish orange hue staining the beautiful landscape. Nothing is stirring in my kingdom. The sapphire ocean is serene. I am companionless as I watch the Great King of the sky sink into the water. He is the only one who understands me. He is the only other substance that I have seen alone. Forgotten we both sink to our places for twilight.

I really need to work on sentence beginnings and text evidence because they would help me prove a point in an essay or so I could have proof if I was trying to state something.

Waupaca
My home town
Relaxed
Good for just hanging out
Interesting
Cloudless lighthearted utopia
Perfect wilderness
Low-keyed tiny town
Unforgettable
Great memories
Pleasant people
Comfortable location
Awesome friends
Sad to leave

Pewaukee
Different
Scary
Seems huge
Different people
Feels alone when you get there
Feel startled
New place
Need to make friends
Feels different
Want to leave
Want to go back to Waupaca
People move on
Get used to new people
Find awesome new friends
Have fun relaxing
Pewaukee seems better now
Still miss Waupaca

There i was standing at the ping-pong table facing Gio brandon and My little brother Thomas. We were playing a game called pong which is when you hit the ball across the table then runs around before the person behind you hits it back. I hit the ball to Gio then sprinted around the pingpong table as fast as I could. Gio hit it to Thomas then ran around the table. On the third round Gio ran so fastthat he crashed into the wall and put a gigantic crack in it. we were all laughing so hard the my dad came downstairs. He asked us what was so funny so we told him that Gio broke the wall so he went over to Gio and said " Gio how the heck did you manage to do that."
We all started laughing again and that is the end of my ping-pong story.

I think that patriotism still matters because the people who fight for our country are dieing and they deserve some respect. Also they work hard to protect our customs and traditions that we keep. Soldiers protect us from terrorists from Iraq who hate us for our religion. they protected us in all the wars we were ever in and they help people in wars who need it. Those are some of the reasons that patriotism still matters.

Hemingway Essay
Try to imagine yourself when you are 80 years old. You don’t have a wife and you are deaf. It would be very lonely to only have a niece who checks in on you and the only place you go is a café to drink brandy all day. This is basically the life of the old man in the story “A Clean Well Lighted Place” by Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway shows a good understanding of depression and loneliness.
Hemingway connects the story “A Clean Well Lighted Place” to his own life because he never found love much like the old man in the story. Also the old man was depressed by this because he didn’t have anyone to love which is probably why he tried to commit suicide. There is definitely a connection between loneliness and depression because if you were lonely you would feel terrible and alone. If a person feels alone then they would feel like there isn’t a purpose for them and they kill themselves. This again ties back into Hemingway because he eventually kills himself too.
The reason the younger waiter doesn’t understand the old man at the café is because the younger waiter has a wife so he has a reason to go home every night where as the old man has no one to go home to so he likes to stay at the café for a long time. The older waiter understands the old man more because he is alone to. The reason the he also likes to stay at the café late is he is afraid that if he leaves then the people will not have a clean well lighted place to go to.
Hemingway definitely has a good understanding of loneliness having experienced it himself but he also has a very different way of describing it. Also he has a way of tying this story into his own life like him being depressed and lonely like the old man tries to commit suicide. This is strange because even though he didn’t know it at that time he would also commit suicide in the end of his life. This is also similar to the old man in the story because he doesn’t have a wife and Hemingway doesn’t ever truly find love.
Hemingway, being depressed and lonely, can understand and connect to the old man and his feelings. One of the reasons Hemingway was depressed was because he never found love but he also probably never did anything that he truly wanted to do except for his writing. His writing was the only thing he had to express himself and he always wrote about things that connected to his own life which might be why he was always unhappy. To stop yourself from being depressed and lonely live in the now and get everything out of life that you can.

I think baseball is a cool summer sport because it is fun and entertaining. Some people think baseball is boring but i think they are crazy. In baseball you have to try and score runs by hitting the ball as hard as you can. The fielders try to get the runner out by tagging them, getting a force out ,or by catching the ball. These are some of the rules of baseball.

Albert Pujols
Albert pujols is one of the best baseball players in America. He is the first round pick in the fantasy draft and he hits the a lot home runs and has a good batting average. He has influenced the game of baseball and influenced me to try and become a better baseball player.
Albert Pujols was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His father died when he was very young and he moved to America with his grandmother at an early age. Albert got into the major leagues when he was 21 years old and started off getting paid $200,000 in 2001. Over the years Pujols has gotten better and better. In 2006 Pujols hit 49 home runs which is the most home runs he has ever hit. Pujols is now paid 2 million dollars a year.
Albert Pujol’s childhood was not very luxurious. His father was almost never around and he relied mostly on other family members. Albert’s father was a very good pitcher in the Dominican Republic and Albert wanted to be just like him. The first time Pujols set foot on a field was at the age of six years old. He was drafted in 1999 by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 13th round which shows that not all of baseball’s great players come expectedly.
Albert Pujols has inspired me to try and become a better baseball player by showing me that it doesn’t matter if you are naturally athletic of if you need to work on your skills. Albert Pujols has improved at baseball over the years and is now still the first baseman for the Louisville Cardinals.

Favorite Athlete

Bryan rafalski is my favorite athlete because I know him and he is a really good defense for the Detroit Red Wings and he was also the oldest hockey player in the 2010 Olympics and scored 4 goals against Canada. He has a summer house in Waupaca and has a son our age named Danny who is good at soccer.

I think that the street wise unit was cool because it gave us information about homeless people and that not all of them are bad people. They are just like us its just that they have had some hardship in live and just need to start trying to get there lives back.

Favorite animal

My favorite animal is my dog Abby because she is nice and she like squeaky toys. Playing outside with her is also fun. She rips stuff and its funny. One time we got ding-dong-ditched and when we opened the door she chased after the kids who did it. She also rolls in nasty things.

I liked my winter vacation so much that I wish it never ended. I liked how I could sleep in a nd hang out with my friends. My family and I went sledding and skiing with friends and we got together with some old friends from Waupaca. I also turned 13 and got a cell phone. I totally loved this winter vacation.
